Cantwell Statement on Senator Mikulski’s Decision to Retire

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) issued the following statement on Senator Barbara Mikulski’s (D-MD) decision not to run for re-election in 2016.

“Senator Mikulski is an irreplaceable voice for the people of Maryland and women across this country. She has always fought for what’s right – whether it was women’s healthcare, pay equity or access to education – and never let opponents back her down. I’m honored to have served with the ‘dean of Senate women’ and to call her a friend.”
