Cantwell Statement on Fatal Helicopter Crash in Seattle
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) released the following statement on the fatal crash of a KOMO-TV news helicopter near Seattle Center.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of Bill Strothman and Gary Pfitzner and to the entire KOMO family,” Cantwell said. “Today’s tragedy is an unimaginable loss for Seattle’s journalism community. Today, we are all thankful for the journalists who face risks every day to report the news in our communities.
“I join Washingtonians in offering our deepest condolences to the families of the victims of this horrific accident, and praying for the safe recovery of those injured. And we thank Seattle first responders and the National Transportation Safety Board for their quick response to this tragic incident.”
