An audio file of U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell's opening statement and Attorney General Christine Gregoire testimony from a Senate hearing on Cantwell's identity theft bill, the Reclaim Your Identity Act is now available.

Cantwell's legislation, which is modeled on Washington state law, would empower consumers to reclaim their identity, protect consumers' good name from bad credit generated by fraud, and increase information flow about identity theft between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to aid anti-terrorism activities.
