Internships
Senator Cantwell offers seasonal internships in her Washington, DC, and Seattle offices to highly motivated and organized students and recent graduates interested in serving Washingtonians and learning more about the United States Senate.
Working in collaboration with the Senator’s professional staff, interns will have an opportunity to contribute to a variety of office priorities including policy and legal research; memo and speech writing; attending, analyzing, and transcribing Congressional hearings and briefings; communication tasks including drafting press releases, video editing, and graphic design; front office operations, including engaging with constituents in-person and on the phone and conducting staff-led Capitol tours; and contributing to constituent outreach, casework, and correspondence.
We are currently accepting applications for our Spring 2026 internship cycle, which will run from January – May 2026. Applications will be open from October 31 – November 21 2025. In addition to completing the online form below, a resume and cover letter are required to complete your application. On your resume, please include skills such as foreign languages, video editing, and graphic design. Applicants with a demonstrated interest in public policy and connections to Washington state are strongly preferred. As needed, our office is able to offer both part-time and full-time positions and an hourly wage of $15.00 for a limited number of hours per week. We are also happy to work with your school so you can receive academic credit for your time in our office.
