Cantwell Statement on non-partisan CBO Score of House Republicans' Health Care Bill

CBO: 23 million more people would lose coverage under House-passed health care bill

WASHINGTON, D.C.  – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) released the following statement after the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office released their score of the House Republicans' health care bill.

“The CBO score is out on the House health bill and millions of Americans will be left with nothing.   This is not the way to treat children, veterans, and the elderly. I urge my Senate colleagues to drop repeal and stop trying to salvage an unworkable bill.  Instead, let’s work together on innovative solutions to drive down costs and improve access, such as the Basic Health Program and community-based long term care.”
