Statement by U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell on the Microsoft-DOJ Settlement
WASHINGON, DC - U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) today responded to the settlement of the anti-trust case between Microsoft and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Senator Cantwell's statement:
"Although my staff and I are still reviewing the substance of the agreement and waiting for the State Attorneys General to comment, I am very hopeful that the settlement process will result in a benefit to consumers, the people of Washington state, and the economy.
"Microsoft has been an engine for the new economy, providing jobs and creative ideas. A fair settlement will enable the company to focus more on innovation, instead of litigation."
