PASCO, WA - The U.S. Department of Transportation is giving the Port of Pasco and the Tri-Cities Regional Airport a $750,000 grant for a new non-stop flight between Pasco and Los Angeles.  Senator Maria Cantwell made the announcement Tuesday afternoon, saying the grant is part of The Small Community Air Service Development (SCASD) Program.

Local businesses previously invested $300,000 in matching funds.

“We are thrilled to have received the SCASD grant and hope that we will be adding direct, daily L.A. service for our Tri-Cities passengers in the very near future. This grant award is the result of unprecedented support from Senator Cantwell and our community partners. It’s a huge win for the whole Tri-Cities region,” said Randy Hayden, executive director of the Port of Pasco.
