Cantwell, Murray, Crapo, Risch Honor Slain Idaho Firefighters With Moment of Silence on U.S. Senate Floor
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) joined U.S. Senators Patty Murray (D-WA), Mike Crapo (R-ID), and Jim Risch (R-ID) in requesting a moment of silence on the Senate floor in remembrance of the two Idaho firefighters ambushed and killed, and a third injured, yesterday while responding to a wildfire near Coeur d’Alene.
“I stand with my Idaho colleagues,” said Sen. Cantwell. “This is a very tight-knit community between Washington and Idaho. Many Washington police and responders participated in yesterday’s activities. Our hearts go out to the people of Idaho and, yes, we want a moment of silence to remember these firefighters.”
