They can call 800-331-0075, to leave contact information for a future time when more information is available, to find out information about a victim or to find out information about the rights of victims and the services available to victim survivors and victim families.

The New York City post office and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have designated a post office box for letters of recognition and thanks. Anyone wanting to write the rescue workers, such as firefighters, police officers, and urban search and rescue teams, can send a letter to:

Box 2551 New York, NY 10166 The mail received will be circulated among firefighters, police officers and all search and rescue personnel and will then be posted in the living quarters of the FEMA task force members. The workers appreciate your support as they continue to sort through debris and labor under challenging conditions during the coming weeks.

The United Way of New York and the New York Community Trust have established a fund to help the victims of the attacks and their families. The September Eleventh Fund will provide immediate support to established emergency assistance agencies.
